Regretfully, due to the COVID 19 lockdown currently in place, we have been unable to perform our annual Service of Remembrance at the war memorial this year. The Parish Council has laid a wreath on the war memorial on behalf of all parishioners in remembrance of those who have sacrificed themselves in the cause of freedom.

We normally read aloud the names of those from our parish who did not return. They are not forgotten and their names are listed here for our reflection:

1914 - 18 GREAT WAR

GEORGE BELL
HENRY CHAPMAN
EDGAR DUTNALL
WILLIAM DUTNALL
AUGUSTUS GOATHAM
EBENEZER GRANSDEN
LIONEL HALES
EDWARD HIGHSTED
ARTHUR INGRAM
THOMAS LAMBKIN
CECIL MILLINGTON
WILLIAM ROWE
WALTER RAYNER
WILLIAM WOOLLETT
RALPH WOOD

1939 - 45 SECOND WORLD WAR

WILFRED HONEY
BRIAN RICHARDS
ALFRED NEWNHAM

They shall not grow old, as we who are left grow old: age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
